PROPERTIES OF STAIN DE GLAS |
||
|
While stained glass artists must consider the difficult technical problems of load and stress in addition to limits of design and color, the Stain de Glas technique can offer customers unlimited design with any or no lines, the opportunity to place their windows in any light situations and with any color in the rainbow. The process creates a relatively lightweight window without hampering the design requirements. The process uses raw materials that are easily available to keep the cost down, and to comply with today's fire codes and building requirements. The technique of Stainglas® is strictly Stain de Glas' own and produces a final result amazingly close to the look of real glass. |

LIGHTUnlike traditional stained glass, Stain de Glas provides a full viewing cycle. It can be appreciated day and night from the interior and exterior. When viewed from the inside in daylight, it offers the same effect as stained glass. When viewed from the outside, it has the appearance of a canvas painting. |

COLOREach color is hand mixed and applied which allows for an almost limitless number of variations in density and hue. The colors can also be blended to achieve color gradations and shading, not possible with other methods. Stain de Glas panels can be created to match any color scheme or logotype. This technique has been touted as being the closest to the lost craft of Tiffany style technique. Stain de Glas can create a floating moon, a vibrant rainbow, an expressive face, variations in leaves and peacocks, etc. This technique is not possible in any other leaded windows unless it has been "stained" as in painted and kiln baked. |

STRENGTHStain de Glas panels are created on a clear acrylic base which gives the finished piece great strength and durability. In an upright situation a single panel can span up to 8ft (in one direction) without additional support and is resilient to weather, making it ideal for a wide variety of residential and commercial uses, both inside and out. It has been installed in private homes, restaurants, churches, shops and hotels throughout the Southwest and Australia. |
